I have always loved books! I have always loved writing and illustrating. As a young, aspiring author/illustrator I wrote, illustrated, and constructed my first book. As a 2nd grader at a small school in Georgia, Centerville Elementary, my dream of becoming an author was nurtured by a sweet librarian that decided my book belonged on their shelf. Something so small was so grand for me and my writing. An impression at a young age may very well be all it takes to make a difference in someone's life and that is my purpose in writing.
Beverly Cleary was my favorite author. I checked out as many books as I was allowed. I always read them, too! My nose was always in a book.
Trixie Belden mysteries were my next favorite. Reading expanded my mind and taught me things about the world that I would have probably never learned from academics.

After becoming a mother, I began reading children's books again to my own children and fell in love all over again with the stories and their beautiful pictures.
I started writing, coloring, and drawing again. My kids were my biggest inspiration. I wrote with their interests in mind. I believe God gave me these experiences to use as inspiration for stories. I am only the vessel in which they ride until they get into a book.
Living in the foothille of the Appalachian Mountains in East Tennessee, I attend church, teach art classes at the public library, and teach piano lessons to many wonderful students. I love to spend time with God, be with my family, garden, and draw.
